Shriya Saran born on 11th September 1982 in Ranipur, father Neeraja and mother Pushpendra Saran, is an actress in the Tamil and Telugu and Hindi film industries. It is a known fact that Shriya saran is acting in a Hollywood movie “The other end of the line” opposite desparate housewives star Jesse Metcalfe. She is known for her glamorous, beautiful and sexy roles in movies.
She started her career as an aspiring model. Shreya started her movie acting career with the Telugu film Ishtam (2001) it was not a succes in the box office. Soon she signed for Nagarjuna’s Santosham (2002), which was a major hit and she didn’t have to turn back since then. She made her Tamil movie debut in “Enakku 20 Unakku 18″ in 2003, casted along with actor Tharun, Trisha Krishnan. Her later movies in Telugu, such as Nuvve Nuvve and Bhageeratha, earned her many accolades. Shreya Saran had the biggest hits in her career with Chatrapati opposite Prabhas.
Her first Bollywood film ‘Shukriya’ was a big success in the box office. But now at 22, southern siren Shriya Saran has not only played lady love to superstar Rajnikant in his magnum opus ‘Shivaji: The Boss’, she is now all set to try her luck in Bollywood again with ‘Awarapan’.
Shriya Saran was born in Dehradun to Neeraja and. She was brought up in Ranipur, few miles from Haridwar.Shriya’s father Pushpendra Saran works at Bharat Heavy Metal Works and her mother is a chemistry teacher.She has an elder brother Abhiroop, who recently got married.She has completed her schooling from DPS (Delhi Public School). She has done B.A. (Literature) from Lady Sri Ram College(LSR).She started her career as a model and this led to roles in advertisements and music albums.Shriya’s first opportunity to appear in front of the camera came whilst she studied her second year at the LSR College in Delhi, which she quit to participate for the shoot.
Saran’s first screen appearance was in the music video of Tirakthi Kyon Hawa by Reenu Nathan, which she was given a chance to perform in by her dance teacher who had recommended her.She started her acting career with the Telugu film ‘Ishtam’ (2001). Thought the film didn’t fare well in the box-office, Telugu producers and directors noticed her potential. She got a big offer to act with Nagarjuna in the film ‘Santosham’ (2002), which turned out a major hit. The films that followed ‘Nuvve Nuvve’ and ‘Bhageeratha’ were also big hits. Next she did one of the biggest hits in her career ‘Chatrapati’ opposite Prabhas.
